Ireland's climate

Ireland's climate is greatly affected by the Gulf Stream blowing in from the Caribbean, so it is, for the most part, a country blessed with mild weather. Temperatures are usually at a comfortable mid-range, and even in the winter temperatures in the freezing range rarely occur, and snow is scarce.

Spring and summer are by far the best time to visit Ireland. The summer months are usually a comfortably hot temperature sitting in the mid 20's Celsius, and rarely hitting as high as 30. It will stay light out until around 11pm in the summer months, allowing you lots of daylight time to explore. These are the best months to rent a car in Ireland, pack it up with gear, and set out to explore the wilds of the country.

The only downfall of Irish weather is the rain. No matter what time of year it is, rain is a common sight outside. It should also be noted that the most lush, green and often scenic areas in Ireland are the ones that experience the most rainfall. Don't let this stop you from making plans that involve a lot of outdoor time, however. This beautiful country is worth seeing no matter how wet the weather is, so pack some raingear and go for it!
